Reverse osmosis
Reverse osmosis systems
Reverse osmosis is a process that is performed as a refinement after other treatment processes or to obtain wastewater or primary water with appropriate quality characteristics. A reverse osmosis system delivers excellent filtration and guarantees consistency in the quality of the filtered water. In ser.eco., we design and build reverse osmosis systems, including those with multiple stages, equipped with CIP for automatic cleaning. Request a quotation for a reverse osmosis system.
What is the reverse osmosis process?
Reverse osmosis is a filtration process, whereby water passes through osmotic membranes as a result of greater pressure and is purged of unwanted substances, thus purifying the water. A reverse osmosis membrane is a filter consisting of a spiral of semi-permeable synthetic fabric wound around a central part.
How does a reverse osmosis system work?
With reverse osmosis, the water to be treated is pushed through the membrane by a pump which exerts a pressure that is greater than the osmotic pressure, thus producing two outflows: the part of the incoming water that passes through the membrane is the permeate that is either discharged or reused, while the remainder is the concentrate that is then disposed of.
Industrial reverse osmosis systems
Reverse osmosis systems in Italy and around the world
We have built reverse osmosis systems for both Italian and foreign companies. The application is also used to refine discharges from third-party wastewater treatment platforms and landfill leachates.
